This Privacy Policy explains how QuietMarlin (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit quietmarlin.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to this policy.
1. Browsing and searching the shop
Searching and filtering the shop happens in your web browser. We do not keep a record of the books you look at or search for.

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message. We use this only to reply to you and to improve the Site. We do not sell it, and we keep messages only as long as needed to handle your request (normally no more than 24 months). Please do not send us bank details or other sensitive personal information.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and time of visit) for security and to keep the Site running. If we enable analytics, we may use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful; it uses cookies to collect aggregated usage data.

4a. Affiliate links
When you click a link to Amazon or Bookshop.org, you leave our site. Those retailers may set their own cookies to record that you arrived from our site so they can credit us with a commission. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not receive your name, address or payment details.

- To operate, secure and improve the Site.
- To respond to your messages and correction requests.
- To show advertising that funds the Site, as described above.

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we receive.
